Daily Disposable Contact Lenses This is the safest and most convenient form of soft contact lens wear as no solutions or overnight care of the lenses are available. There are now several makes and two of them Acuvue and Ciba Vision Dailies that slowly release a wetting agent to give a longer period of comfort. Small amounts of astigmatism can be corrected by Focus toric daily lenses and Acuvue with Astigmatism.  Lenses can be bought on a ad hoc basis or on a regular delivery by standing order. Monthly Disposable Contact Lenses Monthly disposable contact lenses come in a wider range of astigmatic correction. There are also silicon hydrogels which transmit a large amount of oxygen. The downside is that the lenses must be cleaned and stored overnight. Gas permeable lenses Gas permeable contact lenses are a healthy option as the likelihood of infection is low. Some research has shown that wearing gas permeable contact lenses can reduce the progression of myopia, so this is a good option for teenagers whose prescription is changing rapidly. Progressive gas permeable lenses give a more satisfactory correction for presbyopes than progressive soft lenses. Coloured Contact Lenses Coloured Contact lenses are available.
